Julie Lennard has been the chief executive officer of DVLA since March 2018. As CEO, Julie leads the digital and business transformation of one of the UK’s biggest multi-channel service organisations, with over 45 million customers, over 5,000 staff, and £6bn in revenue collected for the UK government per year. In 2017/18, for the very first time, DVLA crossed the threshold of one billion enquiries and transactions in a year.

Julie joined the DVLA in 2014 as director of strategy, policy and communications, where she was responsible for delivering the organisation’s business strategy and policy development. Julie oversaw a directorate that includes data protection, parliamentary liaison and communications.

Before joining DVLA, Julie worked in several roles at The National Archives. Prior to that she worked for the largest consumer organisation in Europe, in a range of roles including as a journalist and representing the campaigning organisation to government departments, agencies and other stakeholders at a national and international level.
