
Mark Gray
Chief Digital and Information Officer, Crown Prosecution Office
Mark started his career as a strategy consultant for Deloitte, advising organisations on strategic challenges ranging from international expansion to cost saving across all sorts of industries – from finance to flooring, and from television to toilets! He then spent over five years at Barclays Bank, working in their small business banking division and in retail mortgages, where latterly he led the programme to digitalise the proposition.
Mark joined the Crown Prosecution Service in July 2016 and leads the Digital, Commercial and Information Directorate. Mark is also the CPS LGBTi Champion. Under Mark’s leadership the CPS won the 2017 Public Sector Paperless Awards for digitisation of the Crown Court and the Service was shortlisted for the 2019 UK IT Industry Awards for multimedia transformation. In 2018 Mark was personally named as one of the top five IT leaders in UK government by CIO UK.
Mark grew up in Ipswich and has a degree from Oxford in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. Away from work, he lives in South London with his wife, 6-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter, and is a keen football supporter, chess player and curry eater!
