Dr Ben Wright

Dr Wright has 30 years’ experience in the NHS and is the Chief Clinical Digital Officer at East London NHS Foundation Trust, a community and mental health trust rated “Outstanding” by the CQC. He has directed clinical informatics at the trust since 2012 and is a founding fellow of the faculty of clinical informatics. During his time at ELFT, in addition to commissioning and designing the clinical system IAPTUS, he directed teams who have; implemented a comprehensive digital clinical safety programme, set up a digital patient participation programme to co-create digital solutions, created a staff engagement network of digital champions, won HSJ digital transformation award for implementation of the patient portal PKB, implemented electronic patient prescribing and administration solution, overseen the digital transformation of the organisation to virtual care during COVID-19 and weathered cybersecurity storms.
He continues to practice as a consultant psychiatrist in medical psychotherapy with a particular interest in trauma treatment and is a trustee of the EMDR UK Association and chairs their scientific and research committee.
